A tour is available to take you from Melbourne to visit the beautiful Grampians National Park and see its highlights in just one day.

Visitors will have the opportunity to step back in time while admiring the Ancient Landscape, which showcases rugged mountain ranges and impressive sandstone ridges. With the guidance of an experienced tour guide, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the countryside and history of the region.

After arriving in the Grampians National Park, visitors can explore the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn about the creation stories that are part of the lore of this diverse landscape. While at the cultural centre, it is possible to observe wallabies, emus, and possibly echidnas in the surrounding bush. This experience offers a deeper understanding of the significance of Gariwerd for the Indigenous people.
Reeds Lookout offers panoramic views of Lake Wartook, the Victoria Valley, and the Mount Difficult Range. Next, we proceed to take a hike along a shaded trail surrounded by gum trees and interesting rock formations, leading us to The Balconies. Here, you will encounter the renowned ‘Jaws of Death’ and admire the majestic views and scenery that were featured in the Japanese Animation ‘Princess Mononoke’.
One can visit the famous waterfall in Victoria Valley, where hiking down to the base provides a chance to marvel at the immense amount of water and feel the refreshing air spray. The hike involves approximately 250 steps to the base and back. Alternatively, if you prefer a simpler, flat walk over the top of the falls, that is also an option. If Mackenzie Falls is closed, a peaceful hike to Silverband Falls will be offered as an alternative.
A stop at the Boroka lookout allows for a picturesque view of the incredible scenery. Depending on the weather and visibility, an alternative option may be to visit Lake Bellfield and walk along the damn, feeling surrounded by two mountain ranges.
A unique aspect of the town of Halls Gap is that residents do not require lawn mowers, as kangaroos can be seen grazing on the grass during the evenings. In the Grampians, you will probably encounter various Australian bird species, such as kookaburras and emus. However, we assure you that a kangaroo sighting is guaranteed before departure. We occasionally have the chance to see echidnas and wallabies. It’s important to remember not to feed wild animals, but don’t forget to make sure your camera battery is charged!
At some point, we will need to return to the city. The journey from the Grampians, which takes 3 hours, includes a stop to buy dinner (at your own cost). After a day of exploring, take some time to unwind and contemplate. You will arrive in Melbourne by approximately 8.30 pm and be dropped off at your initial pick-up point or near public transportation options.
